What are unlocked mobile phones?

Mobile phone is having two types of interior designing, one with Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card facility and other with microchip. It is always seen that the royalty is kept with the provider or creator of that thing; this is the same phenomena with the carriers providing SIM Cards. The carriers are enjoying this royalty by having the software setting named "lock". It makes the mobile phones loyal to its carrier.
There are two types of mobile phones: locked mobile phones and unlocked mobile phones. A locked phone only recognizes a SIM card of a specific carrier while an unlocked mobile phone recognizes any SIM card providing mobile phone services.
Around the globe these two are widely known. Locked mobile phone comes up with specific plans and sometimes you cannot turn it out to unlocked state. In this way you have to be restricted with specific carrier plan. You cannot enjoy other carriers discount facility or low rates. There are different ways to turn the locked mobile phone to unlocked. One way can be by paying some fee for it to the carriers while the other is by having it through any third party with little fee. You might lose some of its functionality by unlocking though.
Some of the consumers feel that the locked mobile phone is better for them. But a third party can unlock the phone by charging some fee but it never ensures you that it will work correctly. So the third parties need to make them function correctly in a way to make these unlocked mobile phone usages successful.
